Although Nebraska is primarily an agricultural state, we don’t slouch when it comes to manufacturing. Plenty of great products are produced here, and some of the factories even offer tours so you can see where your favorite things are made.
5. Hornady Manufacturing, Grand Island
Have you ever wondered how ammunition is made? The Hornady factory tour will take you through the whole process – you’ll never look at bullets the same way!
Tours are available Monday – Friday; visit their website for more information.
6. Rotella’s Italian Bakery, Omaha
This might be the best-smelling (free!) tour you’ll ever take. Tour the Rotella’s facility and watch their legendary bread products come together. Don’t forget to take home a loaf at the end!
Visit the Rotella’s website for contact information to plan your own tour.
There are plenty of other manufacturing plants in Nebraska, but many don’t offer tours because of safety and liability issues. It’s such a rare treat to get to go behind the scenes and see how these things go from concept to finished product.
Do you know of any other factory tours in Nebraska? Add them to the list in the comments!
