The Omaha Beef opened their season to a last-second heartbreaking loss to rival Sioux City Bandits, 38-43, this past Saturday night at the Tyson Events Center. The Beef will be looking to avenge the loss when they travel to Bloomington, IL this Sunday to take on the Bloomington Edge, who are making an entrance into the CIF after a 2 year absence from the former league. The Edge had a preseason scrimmage over the past weekend against the Windy City Ravens, while the Beef will be looking to come away with a 1-1 record into the first bye week of the season. Beef QB Joshua Floyd Jr. was 16-28 passing with 2 int. against the Bandits during the opening weekend. The Beef ran for only 61 yards, and will be looking to build the run game. Penalties hurt the Beef as they had 8 penalties for 42 yards. Compared to the 2015 season opener, when the Bandits stomped the Beef 62-13, the Beef are looking much stronger and more competitive to open up the 2016 season. All 2016 road games will be broadcast for free, right on Beeffootball.com.
