“Trump’s visa ban for Iranians and others is a racist move and unacceptable,” Taraneh Alidoosti announced on Twitter and Instagram.
On Tuesday, The Salesman, directed by Asghar Farhadi, was nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film Academy Award.
It’s the third Iranian film to be nominated in the category. Farhadi’s A Separation won the 2011 Oscar in the category, becoming the first Iranian film to do so.
The film is about a young couple living in Tehran, Emad (Shahab Hosseini) and Rana (Taraneh Alidoosti) Etesami, the latter of whom is attacked in their home.
