Vala’s Pumpkin Patch has closed for the fall season, but the Gretna farm is not done for the year. Its Thanksgiving Market opens for two days the week of the holiday, with an Exit Barn market and online reservations for pies and cider. Before ordering, note that its page contains conflicting date labels.

The key dates: the page lists online preorders for Thanksgiving pies, hard cider, sweet cider, donuts, and kettle corn, with pickup November 24 and 25. The market runs November 24 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and November 25 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Preorder or walk in

The Vala’s Thanksgiving Market page says you can reserve favorites online for pickup or just drop in and shop that day. The farm says it will have extra pies and treats displayed around the barn. But extra is not a guarantee of your flavor at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. If one specific pie matters, check the current preorder availability.

The walk-in menu listed on the page includes soft pretzels, fudge, cinnamon-glazed nuts, caramel apples, hard cider, frozen pies, and frozen pie crust, plus extras of the online items. The farm also says it will offer hard cider samples and sell warm pretzels and glazed nuts as snacks.

The page does not list pie prices or flavors. Check the online order for both. We have not conducted a tasting for this story.

How pickup works

The market is in Vala’s Exit Barn at 12102 S. 180th Street, Gretna. The farm’s instructions: park in front of the big Exit Barn and enter through the Exit Barn porch. Preorder pickup is at the back of the barn under a sign marked “Online Order Pickup.” Give your name and have your confirmation email ready.

If your order includes hard cider, the person picking up must be 21 or older with a valid ID. That catches families who send a teenager on the pie run.

Plan the Wednesday drive

Wednesday, November 25 is the shorter day, ending at 5 p.m., and it is the day before Thanksgiving. If you can make the Tuesday window, which runs until 8 p.m., you have more room. The farm’s phone number is (402) 332-4200.

A note for planners: the top of the page also shows a “Nov. 25th & 26th” heading. The section explicitly labeled 2026 gives November 24 and 25, matching the pickup dates. The preorder deadline is written as “Saturday, November 22,” but November 22, 2026 is a Sunday. We are not treating that contradictory cutoff as a confirmed deadline. Confirm the cutoff and pickup arrangements directly with Vala’s before relying on them.
