Fireworks, Fun, and Freedom: Omaha’s Fourth of July Extravaganza!

Hello, Omaha! The scent of barbecue is in the air, flags are flying high, and the city is buzzing with excitement. Yes, you guessed it right – it’s that time of the year again! The Fourth of July is here, and we’ve got the scoop on all the fun happening in our city. So, put on your patriotic gear, grab a bottle of sunscreen, and get ready to celebrate Independence Day, Omaha style!

Let’s kick things off with a bang, or rather, with a grand fireworks show! The City of Omaha Celebrates America Free Concert & Fireworks Show took place a few days ago at Memorial Park, with rock legend Melissa Etheridge and special guest Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone. If you missed it, don’t fret, we have plenty more lined up for you!

For those of you looking for a weekend-long celebration, head over to Granary Green in Ralston for their Independence Days on the Granary Green event, starting on July 2nd and lasting until the 4th. Here, you can enjoy a car and bike show, live music, and even partake in a food eating competition. Plus, there’s a cool down party after the parade and a splash zone to beat the summer heat. And the best part? It’s all free!

Feeling sporty? Why not catch a game at the FNBO Independence Fireworks event at Werner Park on July 3rd? You can cheer on the Omaha Storm Chasers as they face off against the Iowa Cubs, and then sit back and enjoy a spectacular fireworks display. The cost of the fireworks show is included with the price of admission to the game.

If you’re up for a swim, the Fourth of July Pool Party at Omaha public pools is a great way to cool off. Admission is only $1 on the Fourth of July, and the pools will be open until 5 p.m.

Now, let’s not forget about the main event on the Fourth itself. Ralston Independence Day Celebration is set to bring a wave of excitement with its large parade, fun run, fire department water fight, and of course, a fireworks display! The parade begins at 1 p.m., and the fun continues throughout the day.

Want to keep the party going even after the Fourth? The Third Annual Phourth Phest at the Bellevue Berry Farm & Pumpkin Patch on July 7th has got you covered. Enjoy live music by Phandemic: A Phish Tribute & Dr. Webb, delicious food and drinks, and top off the night with a fireworks show. Tickets for this event are $15.

Don’t forget about the neighborhood parades, too! You can catch parades at 10:30 a.m. along 36th Street and Woolworth Avenue for the Field Club Independence Day, or at 10 a.m. on July 4th along the 600 and 700 blocks of J.E. George Boulevard and at 118th and Cedar streets in the Skylark-Cryer Neighborhood.

So there you have it, Omaha! A smorgasbord of fun, festivities, and fireworks await you this Fourth of July. Whether you’re a sports fan, a music lover, or just looking to enjoy some good old-fashioned fun, Omaha has something for everyone. Let’s celebrate our nation’s independence with a bang!

Happy Fourth of July, everyone!
