Can you crack the code on animal matchmaking? Join Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium for Locked Zoo on Tuesday, August 23, from 6:30 to 10 p.m. to find out! Work in small teams to find clues and solve puzzles to escape the mystery of reviving endangered animal populations (just like zoos do) with Locked Zoo: Rare Breeds edition.
This digital escape room-themed experience is for adults 21 and older. Pair macaws, trade tigers, and get to know gorillas as you discover how zoos worldwide collaborate on captive breeding programs. Species Survival Plans are established across accredited zoos and aquariums to help ensure a future for endangered animal populations and maximize the genetic diversity among them. Learn how zoos and aquariums work together to do this for each species as you attempt to “escape.”
This event is not a race or competition – the game is meant to be completed at your own pace. Mobile device required to play at in-person event. There will be timed entry at 6:30, 7, and 7:30 p.m. The game will take approximately 2 hours to complete and teams are allowed up to 6 players.
Drink tickets will be available for purchase online ahead of time and at kiosks on-site. You also can order an exclusive boxed meal ahead of time, including a variety of wraps. These can be purchased up to 48 hours in advance online. The standard menu at Sea Turtle Cafe will also be offered day of the event.
This is an after-hours, adults-only event. All guests must be 21 or older and must bring a valid photo ID to the event. No exceptions made for any reason.
