Raise the Roots is a community event quickly gaining traction among Omaha-area families. The group hosts quarterly, multi-media events designed to nurture conversation and educate audiences on sustainability initiatives in our area. (Topics include: clean energy, the local food movement, regional green efforts, and community outreach programs). Raise the Roots events are fun for all ages and feature local food vendors, kids activities, information booths and live music! The next event is April 26th at the Waiting Room in Benson. All proceeds benefit the 100-year old non-profit organization, Nebraska Farmers Union.
