Liliane Amavi recently showcased at African Fashion Week and was selected as a top designer to headline in Omaha Fashion Week.
What inspired you to start designing? What motivates you to this day?
I’ve always seen clothing as a form of self-expression. Growing up, I loved adding personal touches to my outfits, whether it was layering in a unique way or customizing something just a bit. That creativity spark grew into a passion for designing pieces that help others feel the same confidence and individuality I felt when I styled myself. To this day, what motivates me is the power of fashion to transform not just how someone looks, but how they feel. I design to inspire confidence, boldness, and authenticity in every person who wears my pieces.
What inspired your collection for OFW Fall 2025?
This collection is inspired by the woman with fire in her spirit. Bold, unapologetic, and powerful. It embodies fierce femininity, unwavering confidence, and the kind of aura that turns heads before she even enters the room. Each piece is a reflection of grace, luxury, and beauty that leaves a lasting impression without saying a word.
How will Omaha Fashion Week further you in your design career? What does this opportunity mean to you?
I’m excited to show at Omaha Fashion Week because it’s a powerful opportunity to showcase my work and connect with a community that values creativity and bold expression. Seeing my designs come to life on the runway is always a surreal experience, but more than that, it’s a chance to share my vision of fashion, to tell a story through style, and to grow as a designer. Opportunities like this push me forward, fuel my passion, and remind me why I started.
