Drink of the Week: The Heartland Harvest

Hello, Omaha aficionados! As the week unfolds, we’re paying homage to the bountiful autumn harvest with a cocktail that’s as rich in flavor as Nebraska’s farmlands. Presenting: The Heartland Harvest!

This cocktail is a toast to the hardworking farmers and the fertile soil of the Heartland. It is imbued with the sweet, golden essence of corn whiskey, a nod to Nebraska’s vast cornfields, and balanced with the tang of apple cider, a staple of the fall season.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Corn whiskey
  • 2 oz Apple cider
  • 1/2 oz Maple syrup
  • 1/4 oz Lemon juice
  • A pinch of ground cinnamon
  • Apple slices and a cinnamon stick for garnish
  • Ice cubes

Instructions:

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
  2. Pour the corn whiskey, apple cider, maple syrup, lemon juice, and ground cinnamon into the shaker.
  3. Shake vigorously until well-chilled.
  4. Strain the mixture into an ice-filled rocks glass.
  5. Garnish with a few apple slices and a cinnamon stick.

Savor the flavors of Nebraska’s harvest with each sip of The Heartland Harvest. It’s a drink that’s as comforting as a walk through the amber waves of grain during a crisp, fall sunset. Cheers to the week ahead!
