A group-text plan for "the brewery on Portal Road" needs one more detail. Kros Strain and Pint Nine both list 10411 Portal Road in La Vista, but they are different taprooms with different suite numbers, hours and rules. Sending the same street address does not settle where you are meeting.
The useful way to choose is not a generic beer ranking. Start with who is coming, what they need to eat, and when the evening needs to end.
Name the suite, then check the clock
Kros Strain's La Vista taproom is Suite 102. Its location page lists Tuesday through Thursday 3 to 9 p.m., Friday 3 to 10 p.m., Saturday noon to 10 p.m. and Sunday noon to 6 p.m.
Pint Nine is Suite 104. Its site lists Tuesday and Wednesday 3 to 9 p.m., Thursday 3 to 10 p.m., Friday 2 to 11 p.m., Saturday noon to 11 p.m. and Sunday noon to 8 p.m. Monday is closed except for special events.
For tonight, Saturday November 7, the posted closing-time difference is an hour: 10 p.m. at Kros Strain and 11 p.m. at Pint Nine. For a Sunday gathering, it is two hours. Choose a meeting place and a stopping point before ordering, and arrange a sober ride if your group will drink. These are posted taproom hours, not promises that a food truck serves until closing.
Dinner is a separate plan
Kros Strain's FAQ says it has no kitchen and welcomes outside food or delivery. Its La Vista page lists Red Barn Cafe at noon and Nittaya Thai at 5 p.m. on November 7. Those are schedule entries, not a guarantee of stock or a published dinner price. Check again before making the truck your group's only food plan.
Pint Nine also permits outside food. It tells guests bringing food for events to bring their own utensils, plates and napkins. Kros Strain likewise says it does not supply those items for events because it has no kitchen.
One trap worth avoiding: the Pint Nine food-truck page we opened still displayed October dates. We are not turning that into a November lineup. Bringing or arranging dinner is the more dependable plan unless the brewery confirms that night's truck.
A dog changes the choice; not drinking does not rule either out
Pint Nine's FAQ welcomes leashed dogs, while noting that its separate event space, The Room, is for humans. Kros Strain says pets are welcome on the patio but not inside, with an exception for service animals. On a night when sitting outdoors does not suit your group, that difference matters more than which tap list you saw first.
Both breweries publish nonalcoholic options. Pint Nine lists NA beers and cocktails plus soft drinks; Kros Strain lists NA beer, mocktails and other alcohol-free drinks. Exact brands and availability can change, so do not promise a particular bottle to a friend without checking.
Both also welcome families, but Kros Strain expressly describes its taproom as adult-oriented and requires supervision. Family-friendly is not the same promise as a children's activity.
The text to send your group: the brewery name, suite number, food plan, dog plan and closing time. That is a more useful invitation than "meet at 10411." Find dated outings in Tonight; this is a venue-planning guide, not an unverified free-event listing.
