Drink of the Week: Spiked Apple Cider

The Spiked Apple Cider is a warm and comforting winter cocktail that combines the flavors of apple cider and your choice of spirit. It’s made with apple cider, cinnamon sticks, nutmeg and your choice of spirit, such as rum, brandy, or whiskey, and is typically served in a heatproof glass or mug. The apple cider provides a warm and comforting base, while the cinnamon and nutmeg add a touch of warmth and spice.

To make a Spiked Apple Cider you will need:

  • 8 oz apple cider
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/4 tsp grated nutmeg
  • 2 oz of your choice of spirit (rum, brandy, or whiskey)

In a pot, combine the apple cider, cinnamon sticks, and nutmeg. Heat the mixture over low heat, stirring occasionally, until it simmers. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes, being careful not to boil the cider. After 10 minutes, remove from heat and add your choice of spirit, stir well.
