Looking for a downtown museum stop that is open now? The Durham Museum’s In Search of the Signers is on display through January 10, 2027, at Union Station, 801 S. 10th Street.
The museum says the exhibit draws on Omaha collector Byron Reed’s papers tied to 49 of the 56 Declaration of Independence signers, shown for the 250th anniversary of the United States. Documents related to Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, John Hancock and other founding figures are listed among the holdings visitors can see.
Reed bequeathed his collection to the City of Omaha; the Durham preserves it today. Regular museum hours currently list Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday noon to 4 p.m., with Mondays closed. Confirm admission, tickets and any program changes before you go.
