On Friday, April 26, the fourth beer in Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium and Zipline Brewing Co.’s Zoo Brew Series will hit stores and Zipline tasting rooms. Snow Leopard Wit is the final beer to be sold as part of the introductory series.
Through the use of traditional ingredients (bitter orange peel, chamomile and coriander), Snow Leopard Wit combines floral and spice aromas with bright citrus to create a delicately balanced wheat ale. Proceeds generated from Snow Leopard Wit will directly support the Zoo’s conservation efforts to help Mongolia’s population of snow leopards, an endangered species to be part of Asian Highlands opening at the Zoo in May. Specifically, proceeds from the brew will help support the development of snow leopard protected areas to reduce poaching, mining and unsustainable land development.
“It has been inspiring to see how this partnership has connected our community to the threats that face wildlife around the world in a very creative and fun way,” said Dr. Cheryl Morris, vice president of conservation at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium. “It’s really special to complete the Zoo Brew Series by highlighting the snow leopard, not only because the big cat is part of Asian Highlands opening in May, but because this beautiful and elusive species needs our help. We hope purchasing Snow Leopard Wit is just a first step in forming connections and commitments to snow leopards and other endangered species.”
Zipline Brewing Co. will host launch parties for Snow Leopard Wit at all three of its retail locations, including the North Downtown Omaha Taproom at 721 N. 14th St. The events occur on Friday, April 26 from 5 p.m. to close.
The Zoo Brew Series consists of four limited edition beers that focus on the conservation efforts of a different endangered animal species. Proceeds from the series directly support field conservation projects around the globe. Red Panda Wheat, African Elephant XPA and Rockhopper Bock, the first three beers to launch in the Zoo Brew Series, hit shelves in 2018 and early 2019.

The Zoo Brew Series will be available for purchase at Zipline Brewing Co., as well as multiple retail outlets in the Zipline distribution territory.
