Omaha’s Zoo Thanks Healthcare Workers and Emergency Responders with Free Admission


In gratitude for their exemplary work during the coronavirus crisis, Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium is pleased to offer free gate admission to all healthcare workers and emergency responders, and their immediate families, from Sunday, February 14, through Sunday, February 21. These honored guests can show their work identification badge at the Zoo’s main entrance for admittance.

“As we celebrate Valentine’s Day, Zoo staff and I wanted to take this opportunity to show our great appreciation for the healthcare workers and emergency responders in our community,” said Dennis Pate, president and CEO of Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium. “Their hard work and dedication has been vital to keeping our community going through this pandemic. Their extra efforts to keep everyone safe is what will get us back to normal faster than anything else.”

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Zoo grounds and buildings close at 5 p.m. The Zoo has seven acres of indoor exhibits to enjoy during the winter months including the Lied Jungle®, Desert Dome, and the Suzanne and Walter Scott Aquarium. Guests can also see a movie at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium on the Lozier Giant Screen Theater® or grab lunch in Durham TreeTops Restaurant overlooking the Jungle.

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium continues to operate by our “Healthy You, Healthy Zoo” guidelines and is committed to the safety and well-being of our guests, animals, and employees. Changes will be made as needed based on actual operating conditions and COVID-19 guidance from public health experts and elected officials.
