Omaha Zoo

Penguin Awareness Day

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium is celebrating Penguin Awareness Day, January 20, the entire month of January with exclusive King Penguin adoption packages.

This month, in partnership with the Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB), the Zoo is donating ten dollars from every Penguin Zoo Mama or Zoo Daddy package purchase directly to SANCCOB. Ten dollars is what it costs SANCCOB to care for one penguin chick for one day.

This month only, two special packages will be available in the Zoo’s Main Gift Shop only. Both packages will include a ten-dollar donation to SANCCOB.

  • $65 package includes:
    • 17-inch stuffed animal
    • Animal book
    • King Penguin Zoo Mama or Zoo Daddy Package
    • One-of-a-kind tote bag
    • Animal fact sheet
    • Adoption certificate
    • Colored photo of your adopted animal
    • Two passes to Wildlife Safari Park
  • $35 package includes:
    • 8-inch stuffed animal
    • King Penguin Zoo Mama or Zoo Daddy Package
    • Animal fact sheet
