Omaha’s Zoo and Aquarium invites all to celebrate Spring Break with a visit to the Zoo. As the weather warms, there will be increasingly more happening at Omaha’s Zoo and Aquarium. There is much to see and immerse yourself in including Owen Sea Lion Shores, the Asian Highlands and the renovated Hubbard Gorilla Valley.
Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium is currently open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Lied Jungle closes at 3 p.m. and the other exhibit buildings close at 5 p.m.
- Plan your day by stopping at the “Today at the Zoo” board near the Main Gate and Gift Shop. A normal schedule includes the following:
- Scott Aquarium Touch Pool: Open Daily, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Berniece Grewcock Butterfly and Insect Pavilion: Open Daily, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Penguin Feedings in Scott Aquarium: Daily, 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.
- Stingray Beach: Open Daily, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- $4 for members, $5 for non-members, and $1.50 per feeding cup (limited quantities)
- The Lozier Giant Screen Theater is free for members or $7 per person for non-members. Films currently playing are:
- Great Barrier Reef 2D: 11 a.m. 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
- Sea Lions – Life by a Whisker 2D: 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
- Guests will have an opportunity to see the first two African elephant calves, Eugenia and Sonny, born at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium in its history.
- As the weather warms, guests may see the calves in the outside exhibit area closest to the Elephant Family Quarters building. This is very weather-dependent and would most likely occur in the afternoon.
- Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom Pavilion has reopened and offers additional viewing of the elephants through a live video feed from the Elephant Family Quarters and an informational video, highlighting the birth of the calves and additional information about the herd.
- Reservations are needed to go inside the Elephant Family Quarters, which is open each day between 10:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. Visitors can reserve a timed ticket by visiting OmahaZoo.com/Hours-and-Admission.
- Ninety tickets will be available in 15-minute increments (10:15, 10:30, 10:45 a.m., etc.) and the maximum reservations per individual is six tickets per day.
- Tickets for the timed reservations will become available online at 12 p.m. the day before and there is no charge for these tickets with paid Zoo admission or membership.
- Guests will be asked to stay no longer than their 15-minute reservation and exit the Elephant Family Quarters before the next reservation time.
- Durham TreeTops Restaurant offers hot and cold food options, as well as indoor seating, and is open daily at 10 a.m. for snacks and at 11 a.m. for full service.
- The Zoo allows outside food and beverages on grounds. These items can be brought with you inside of a bag or cooler. Glass containers and alcohol are not allowed.
- Strollers, wagons, and electric scooters are available to rent on a first come, first serve basis. A single stroller is $10 for the day; double strollers or wagons are $14 for the day and electric scooters are $30 for the day. They are available near the Main Gift Shop.
- Free parking.
